Some things need to be done slowly.

I found respect for a person who can identify Christopher Walken's voice in an animated feature movie.

Hello, blogspot - long time no see.

Talk to the Hair

One good thing about being senior is you can send out e-mail like, 'please send your work to me so I can compile', and then go off to write a blog post.

Last weekend I did a small calculation on how many years have passed since I first visited the hairdresser I employed a couple of days ago in order to get a new do. About 9 years. Two memorable things he mentioned during the visits I had, on the period starting from nine years ago until last Friday.

My mother always say this same thing about hair and after years of trusting 80% of the fidelity of the sentence, the guy uttered the completing 20% of it when I told him that some hair were easy to manage, and some just weren't. His reply was 'the manageability of hair depends on the person." Wow, Mom!

I gave myself, well, he did, actually, give me a super short haircut, that, if you compare against the length of my hair for the past 5 years or so. The speculation from the guy who gave me a nice blow-dry was, "you're broken-hearted, aren't you?" I just smiled. My hairdresser didn't talk much. His words usually the bare minimum, just all about the essentials in the practice of hairdressing. Do you want layers or bob? You want asymmetrical cut? Bangs to the right or left? However, at the end of the session, seemed satisfied with his work, he looked at the mirror and told me, "the short cut suits you better."

What I heard was, "you're better off without him." See? Essentials only.

The End

I checked my old post, it was written around the same time of the year, 4 years ago. Exactly 2 days after the release of the movie, just like today.

The prequel did better. It was a more difficult one. I was just about to write that it was the more controversial one, but of course that is not true. With The Dark Knight Rises premiere, came a very unfortunate and senseless tragedy that broke our hearts. Joker may be the creepiest character on the trilogy, but this shooting incident is as real as you and I, and it took the lives of 14 real-life people, as per today. Nothing creepier.

Dark clouds aside, I love this third one. It's not as dark, and has an ending that completes the whole story. It beautifully opens up a new possibility but also concludes all the questions we have in mind.

Christian Bale. One of a kind. Please don't stop working.

Thank you Bie for the ticket and dinner. I think I went to the second one with him, as well :-).
